I’m not sure many people saw this story about American Airlines.

American Airlines will start charging $15 for the first checked bag…

Last month, American joined other carriers in charging $25 for a second bag checked by passengers.

So I thought, eh, glad I’m not doing much flying and won’t be checking in on American any time soon. I had mentioned it to the little woman and she thought of something I never even thought about.

She said, oh great, now they’re going to charge me for the privilege of them losing my checked bags.

I hadn’t even thought of that. And she’s right. Now that they will charge for any bags on the plane. If they lose it, they’ve essentially made you pay for losing your bag. Nice way to spit on your customers.

And I’m sure now that they’re charging for that first bag that they will work harder at not losing people’s bags, right? I know, don’t hold my breath…
