Then Again, It Can Be Good To Be The Veep

Don’t get me wrong, I think this story is great and shows what can happen in America.

Former U.S. Vice President Al Gore left the White House seven years ago with less than $2 million in assets, including a Virginia home and the family farm in Tennessee. Now he’s making enough to put $35 million in hedge funds and other private partnerships.

Well, I wonder if he’s got the same investments in commodities that Hillary had?

In the last personal finance report he filed as vice president, Gore disclosed on May 22, 2000, that the value of his assets totaled between $780,000 and $1.9 million.

So he goes from having a net worth, at most of about $2 million dollars. Which is richer than most people in this country, btw. And is able to grow that in 8 years to a net worth “well in excess” of $100 million.

And that’s great. It really is. As someone that believes in capitalism and free trade, this story is what America is really about. If you want to do something, you can and there isn’t anyone to stop you.
