Why Homeland Security Is A Joke
Besides the name grating on me like chalk on a blackboard with it’s Orwellian name, it’s these sorts of stories that get me all ticked off.
An 8-year-old Kansas boy is causing a national security stir after his name popped up on a no fly list and airlines banned him from flying in fear he might be a terrorist.
Well kid, you’ve got good company. Senator Ted Kennedy was also listed. Nice to see the people entrusted with our safety are on top of their game.
According to the Transportation Security Administration, no children are on the terrorist watch list. The TSA said if a child’s name matches up, it’s up the airline to make the necessary changes and let them board the plane.
Except in this age of lawyers, what airline would ever want to clear someone on the no fly list? Oh and what happens when this kid is 17 and his name is still on it? He won’t be able to fly. And there’s no way to get off the list. The TSA has refused to give any help that way. So when this kid grows up, he’ll still be on the list and then what?
That’s not security. That’s stupidity.
