Are They Sure He’s A Republican?

I saw the following story from Drudge and was wondering whether this guy supported Billary or Obama.

Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels elicited several hushed gasps and raised eyebrows late last week as he lectured a conservative crowd that it was “time to let Ronald Reagan go.”

“Nostalgia is fine and Reagan’s economic plan was good,” Daniels said. “But we need to look towards the future rather than staying in the past.” Daniels added that the GOP needed to work on uniting behind Sen. John McCain instead of constantly comparing the Arizona senator with the Gipper.

Ahhh spoken like a good rino. I’m sure he wasn’t misquoted and I’m really sure he believed everything he said too.

What I don’t understand about these sorts of people is why call yourself a republican?

While governor he passed a cigarette tax, proposed an increase in the income tax and reduced property taxes while increasing the sales tax. Ok, at least the property tax went down but at the cost of increasing the sales tax. Which means you’re still paying taxes. You’re just shifting it from something that is right in your face to something that isn’t. But you are still paying for those taxes. It’s governmental slight of hand.

Of course considering how the current crop of republicans have been hew in New Hampshire and in Congress, he’s about par for the course. If the republicans want to know why they’re losing elections they may want to look at governors and congressman that like raising taxes.
