More Political Stupidity
While I would normally mark this as a republican stupidity, there have been more than a few democrats that also try to create laws that control people. Anyway, we have a great story showing how some politicians are more interested in protecting their feelings than anything else.
Kentucky Representative Tim Couch filed a bill this week to make anonymous posting online illegal.
The bill would require anyone who contributes to a website to register their real name, address and e-mail address with that site.
Their full name would be used anytime a comment is posted.
Yeah because, who really needs that first amendment anyway.
And when the website gets hacked and all that personal information gets leaked, would a person get redress from the state? I know, don’t be rediculous. Seriously though, are we such sheep that we would give up our first amendment rights because we’re afraid of being called names? Hopefully this bill gets laughed out of the Kentucky legislature.
