Smoke Em If You Got Em
July 18th, 2007
Because if the wonderfully imaginative democratically controlled congress has it’s way, you won’t be able to buy a cigar in the future.
As part of an increase in tobacco taxes designed to pay for children’s health insurance, the nickel-per-cigar tax that has ruled the industry could rise to as much as $10 per cigar.
While there will be cigars in the future, there’s no way the industry will survive with a $10 per cigar tax. Just won’t happen. So I’ll have a front seat watching congress single handedly destroying an industry. Of course it won’t be the first time they’ve done that.
