Except For The Politicians

I know it was a different time back then, but you’d think with the understanding of human nature Mr Jefferson wouldn’t say the following.

“My confidence is that there will for a long time be virtue and good sense enough in our countrymen to correct abuses.”

I mean, that is pretty true for anyone who is not a politician. It seems the political class does not have the good sense to correct abuses, regardless of party or creed.

And we’re all the worse off because of it.
